Spring 2008 Already
Can you believe the semester is already here? It doesn't seem possible. Intersession just ended and I had an entire three days off before starting this class. It seems impossible, yet here we are.
This semester should be an interesting experience for all of us. I have planned readings and writings that will intrigue you. I have some movies that will be worthy of your time and thoughts.
Speaking of thoughts, I consider English 101 a class about thinking. We will discuss many topics, and explore many ideas. During this experience, I want to be your guide. We will probably disagree on topics (I hope so), but that doesn't mean we can't understand each other. Your thoughts and opinions are yours. I don't expect you to be a parrot repeating what I say. Feel free to disagree with me and others, but be polite and kind. If we all do that, class will be be welcoming, exciting and challenging.
Best wishes for the semester!
